Infant massage is an age-old practice that is growing in popularity. It’s a wonderful way to experience the way your baby communicates with you.
Research indicates that newborns who receive regular massage grow more in both height and weight during the first few weeks of life. More than 100 studies confirm infant massage can relieve gas, colic, constipation, earaches, asthma, colds, sleeping problems, teething and several other conditions. Other benefits include:
- Increases bonding and attachment
- Relaxes your baby’s muscles
- Helps increase circulation
- Reduces stress
- Improves sleep
- Helps with elimination
- Increases alertness and active time for learning
