LYNDHURST, N.J. — Studio 108 in Lyndhurst is opening its doors to the community and offering weekly yoga classes every Friday throughout the summer for just $5 per class.
Half of the proceeds each month will be donated to a different charity, with June benefiting the Humane Society of Bergen County, also based in Lyndhurst and just down the block from the studio.
The drop-in community yoga classes kick off 6-6:45 p.m., Friday, June 8 and continue every Friday through Aug. 24.
“The spirit of yoga is about giving back,” said Studio 108 owner Teresa Dornellas, a North Arlington resident. “I’m blessed to be part of a wonderful community here in South Bergen County.”
Dornellas chose the Humane Society of Bergen County for the first charity because as an animal lover, especially cats, it’s a cause near and dear to her heart. In July, the Lyndhurst Food Pantry will be the recipient and in August, Studio 108 is open to suggestions. It can be any area charity.
Drop-in yoga classes are first-come, first-served and Studio 108 memberships or packages are not included for this charitable program.
Cash is appreciated for faster check-in and so the Studio can avoid credit card fees (just for these classes, otherwise any form of payment is happily accepted).
Anyone from any town in Bergen, Hudson, Passaic, Essex or Morris counties is eligible for the $5 Friday summer community class.
